Quality Management
The wide range of available testing technology guarantees the optimum material test for every application.
The HARMS Lohnhärterei shop has an extensively equipped laboratory with modern hardness testing equipment as well as facilities for mechanical materials testing. Tensile and notched impact tests are produced in our own sample workshop. The equipment is supplemented by powerful microscopes with image output for metallographic examinations.
We carry out component acceptance tests directly in the hardening shop. We have many years of experience with various acceptance companies such as GL, BV, DNV, LRS.
In the field of hardness testing, the test methods according to Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell, with the corresponding load levels, are applied. Hardening depth curves are determined with µm accuracy using a cross table and Vickers tester. Mobile hardness testers are used for large components.
For metallographic investigations, a complete laboratory for appropriate sample preparation and evaluation is available. Metallographic examinations are directly documented by means of an image output. Thus the results can be determined immediately and thus have a direct influence on the production.
QM system
On the basis of DIN EN ISO 9001, a QM handbook regulates all processes and procedures that are practiced in the company in a clear, comprehensible and reproducible manner for the entire staff of the company. The Harms contract hardening shop is certified by DNV-GL.
